I'm on the hunt! Vintage shops look out, cause I will be tearing through your racks pretty soon. Band t-shirts are the epitome of cool (to me anyway). I don't know what it is about band t-shirts but I can't get enough of them, and I plan on building up an impressive collection. Aside from fashion and styling, music is my other hobby.
I can't sing to save my life, but I have a very impressive iTunes library, and when I hear a song on the radio, nine times out of ten I can name the song title and artist before you can say, 'Jade, you have issues'. My very first album I bought was the Kooks 'Inside In/Inside Out' for a mere two pounds. For the rest of my London holiday I made my family listen to the album on repeat in the car (I'm surprised no one threw it out the window). My most memorable concert I've been to would have to be 'Good Charlotte'. I think I was in grade eleven at the time, and this was the most hardcore thing I had ever done. Standing next to a scary looking, tattooed man, thats when I realised how music has the power to connect so many different people, from all walks of life…aaaaand that's about as emotional as I'm going to get tonight.
The rules when buying a band shirt is that you have to actually listen to the band. Save yourself from the awkward silence when someone asks you 'so whats your favourite song?', and you don't know s**t. Also, don't buy any vintage t-shirts which have yellow stains on them, cause most likely some scary looking, tattooed man was sweating in that very same shirt at an AC/DC concert (and thats just plain gross).
I will keep you posted on my progress, but for now I leave you with the very song that started my obsession.
Skate on and enjoy the view,
Jade
